Northern is the largest region of the Young Nats, encompassing 24 General and 2 Maori seats from the Bombay Hills to Cape Reinga, with 20 of these seats making up the Auckland urban area. The region runs many regular and exciting events including our university campus O weeks, policy forums, drinks events, business events, and campaign days. In the 2014 Election we contributed thousands of hours of time to the campaign. And we have a big and growing role at senior party conferences every year.
But believe it or not, the Young Nats isn’t just about politics. It’s a place where like minded young people can come together for a laugh, a bit of banter and a good time. We stand up when it counts and do our best to make a difference in the lives of our fellow young Kiwis, like supporting marriage equality, keeping the drinking age 18, promoting equality of opportunity and ensuring our families live in a safe and stable environment, but we also know how to have a good time.
The Young Nats is a great organisation because you can do as much or as little as you want. You can commit your time to networking, campaigning, writing policy and gaining leadership positions, or you can just enjoy our social events and chatting with people who want a better New Zealand and know that’s going to be achieved under a National Government.
We’d love to have you on board in whatever way that suits you, so get in touch.
